Talking about the good virus, the travel virus. Th Talking about the good virus, the travel virus. This was on a canoeing trip back in 2004 in the verendrye park in Ontatio. During a short break, I was standing in the water to avoid at least a couple of the 2000000 mosquitos. Needless to tell you i miss them all. But. I’ll be back!

Meerdaalwoud: Together Heverlee woods, Meerdaal forest and Egenhoven woods form the largest mixed deciduous woods in Flanders, and cover an area of 2,050 ha.
In contrast to the surrounding fields, the soil tends to be sandy or loam sand.
The predominant tree species is the red American oak.
There is a great variety in vegetation including ground ivy, Solomon’s seal, celandines, arum lily, wild strawberry, lily of the valley, May lily, lady fern and woodland germander.
The deer population is the oldest in Flanders, and bird watchers will love the wide range of song birds and birds of prey.

Start of the #exploringwildbelgium Expedition. Da Start of the #exploringwildbelgium Expedition.
Day 1: baking hot warm up walk in the neighborhood.
Borders cannot close the heart of an explorer.
For reasons we all know, most of us all will be severely limited in their ability able to travel and go on holidays abroad for the coming months.
As with most problems in life, we can take approaches here. Either we wallow in our own self-pity, or we take a positive stance and make the best of it.
There’s no need to get all stressed out about it if we can just embrace the issue and be creative.
Therefore, Kiki and myself, suggest we all go (re-)explore and (re)discover our own countries. - Go hike, fish, swim, camp,…
- Organize a micro adventure / expedition
- Discover healthy local foods and cuisine
- …
While you do so, share pictures or videos with the hashtag #ExploreXYZ on social media, to show your fellow countrymen, and people from abroad, how beautiful and inspiring your own country is. That way we’ll get hashtag such as :
#exploringwildholland,
#exploringwildfrance
#exploringwildgermany
#exploringwildguatemala
#exploringwildaustralia
Once this spreads as a good virus, we can show just how beautiful our country, our continent and ultimately our entire planet is.
In the meanwhile we all together promote and benefit from a healthy and a little wilder lifestyle.
While going outdoors, we of course urge you to comply with local regulations and safety measures in place because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Are you in for this adventure? Let us know.
